DPS One Office: UK's 1st PISCES Compliant Case Management Software
One Office from DPS has become the first UK case management system to be certified as Pisces 1.6.1 compliant.
One Office is the engine behind their workflow modules. DPS have workflows for conveyancing, plot sales, family, general document management, crime, and medical negligence.
The property related workflows in One Office are ‘Convey' for residential and commercial conveyancing and ‘Plots' for bulk plot sales.
These application modules all maintain fully electronic files storing incoming and outgoing emails, letters, and other correspondence. There is also a powerful built in document assembly and workflow language that allows users to change all their applications to suit themselves.
All the One Office application modules are now fully Pisces compliant, however ‘Plots' and ‘Convey' are the modules that immediately benefit the most.
The benefits to One Office users is huge in that after a simple upgrade they are ready to accept and submit Pisces compatible information to other Pisces compatible organisations. DPS software users can upgrade to One Office as part of their maintenance program.
PISCES is the data transfer standard that has been adopted by, amongst others, Halifax plc and Nationwide Building Society and other property professionals.
The concept of the Pisces standard is that the many professionals involved in property transactions should be able to communicate using a single data transfer standard. This will clearly lead to much less re keying of information and a resultant saving in time.
Scott Ridley, Technical Director of DPS software said, “Pisces is the major standard and solicitors that want to communicate electronically with these major lenders will need case systems that are compatible”
Other major property professionals working towards compliance with the standard include BP International, Thames Water Utilities, Searchflow and large legal firms such as Clifford Chance and Wragge & Co.
Roger De Bohmer, Chief Executive Officer of Pisces, said, “The files generated by the One Office product have been certified as Pisces 1.6.1 compliant and we have updated our web site and information accordingly. We are pleased that DPS have put Pisces compliance at the top of their agenda and worked towards this standard. We believe that in the next few years solicitors will have to use some form of Pisces compliant software if they want to effectively communicate with some of the major organisations that have committed to the standard”
Osman Ismail, Managing Director of DPS software said, “Home Information Packs are becoming a reality and we see that the Pisces standard will be instrumental to the preparation and distribution of packs. The speed that we have been able to meet the Pisces standard has been only been made possible because of our commitment to the XML standard and our investment in engineering our software to the .net standards”

About the PISCES Standard
PISCES enables the electronic transfer of information directly from one system into another, removes the need to send hard copy and, more importantly, the need to re-enter data manually.
The PISCES Standard is a set of definitions and rules that facilitates the automatic transfer of data between different software packages. It has been used regularly for over 9 years by those involved in the property industry.
