Integration at JD Spicer

Integration inevitably leads to efficiencies and immense cost savings. Often integration means linking the accounts and case systems. DPS have taken this one step further by fully integrating their digital dictation system Team Talk to their accounts and case systems. This means that all the core practice systems use a single Microsoft SQL database giving a practice a fully scaleable system.

J D Spicer & Co London have recently installed the DPS Cashier accounts software and Team Talk digital dictation into their Kilburn, Wood Green and City offices.

As a major criminal practice they needed to ensure that they operated their offices in the most efficient possible way. The management information produced by the digital dictation system Team Talk is incredible and easy to get, the reports from the accounts and case make monthly management reporting simple.

The overall project was undertaken over 6 months and including training and project management cost just over £150,000 including hardware.

This is clearly a significant investment for any firm particularly one that does a significant amount of LSC work.

Senior partner Phillip Spicer said, “any firm that does not have a solid IT infrastructure is building a business on shifting sands, I need to make sure that my staff are given the best tool for their jobs”. 

They are extending their usage of digital dictation over the whole practice and have now provided full file access for partners over the internet.

As an LSC practice they anticipated tight cost control in the years to come and their IT solution has immediately given them potential to succeed.
