LMS Changes in Transactional Case Plans

DPS Winner in Business Merger.

Luton, Watford and St Albans based DPS Software users; Gordon Young & Co, have recently announced their merger with Enfield and Hertford based Alistair Meldrum & Co.

The merger will create a new specialist criminal practice of five partners and thirty five fee earners spread across six offices, making it one of the country's top ten providers of legally aided criminal defence advice.*

Meldrum Young Solicitors, as the newly formed practice is now known, signed an order to rollout DPS One Office, currently being used by eight staff at Gordon Young & Co, to all staff replacing the existing in-house billing and accounts system via a wide area network.

Tracy Davies the practice manager of Meldrum Young said; “ The merger has created a business with expertise in both magistrates and Crown Court work. The decision to migrate from our current systems was very straight forward once we saw the comprehensive CDS and Crown Court billing facilities in DPS, while the case management tools are superior to anything else we have seen. Combined with the sheer flexibility of the DPS system we will be increasing our productivity and profitability in a very short time. We have just opened a new office in Manchester concentrating on Prison Law and DPS will provide the support they need in this new area for our practice. DPS offer administrative ‘shortcuts' in their document management that will increase our profitability in this unsettling time of contract tendering. We intend to be cutting edge and to lead the field with our quality of service, DPS is an important part of that package.”
