At DPS Software, our matter management software is used by over 700 legal practices nationally and has over 18,000 individual users. This is the result of over 30 years of refining systems for the legal industry and incorporates everything we have developed over that period of time. The result is a system that covers every aspect of a law practice, and in some instances contains more than an individual practice might need.
For this reason, DPS Software’s system is supplied in modules so that any practice can subscribe to the modules that it needs and simply not use the ones that it does not require. Everything is available in the cloud but can also be used on your in-house servers if required. Indeed, some of our clients undertake some of their activities, such as banking for instance, on their own server and use our cloud hosted servers for other aspects of their practice.
One very big advantage of our matter management system in the cloud is that you can access it from anywhere with an internet connection. Use your smartphone, tablet, or your laptop at home, and you have instant connection to everything connected with a case. For this reason, many people have concerns about security, but at DPS Software your data is likely to be more secure than on your own local server.
It is well-known that law firms are regarded as high risk when it comes to cyber attacks. As part of DPS Cloud, we make sure that your data is safe from cyber attacks. Our company received its certificate of accreditation to the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 international standard for information security management in 2012, and has recently been upgraded to the new standard- ISO/IEC 27001:2013. In order to gain this accreditation, we were audited by the British Standards Institution (BSI) over a Stage 1 preliminary audit and a two-day Stage 2 certification audit.
All of your data is stored in our own data centre and is backed up in the Bunker’s cloud storage facilities. This means that your data is protected in strict accordance with the rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and includes definitive data location. We also have our own dedicated security team in order to ensure that we always keep not just one step ahead but many steps ahead of cyber criminals. Your data will always be safe with DPS.
Furthermore, if you wish to become Cyber Essentials accredited yourself, our team can undertake an evaluation of your policies and procedures and suggest any new controls you may need in order to do so. This can have a considerable effect in reducing your annual insurance premiums.
