With compliance and risk management at the top of the agenda for many law firms right now DPS have responded by developing and releasing a new risk management module which integrates with their Outlook Office case management system and their legal accounting software.
A small number of DPS clients adopted the module in December 2011 with the new feature highlighted to existing clients at the DPS user group meeting on Wednesday 26th January 2012. The addition of risk management to DPS’s practice management software package has been well received by those firms already utilising it, finding it has quickly become core to their compliance procedures, and this was reflected in the enthusiasm generated by the module amongst attendees at the User Group meeting.
The module includes risk assessment at client and matter level, conflict of interest checks and an anti-money laundering client documents section.
Technical Director at DPS, Scott Ridley, comments: “We’re constantly developing our products and reacting to market conditions, and the pressures applied on our clients by these, with new features and functionality. The integrated risk management is part of this development and gives our clients the ability to quickly implement compliance procedures as part of their existing case management processes.”
Assessing risk at both client and matter level within their case management system allows compliance managers at law firms to implement policy that the software ensures users adhere to. These same users also benefit as they are not diverted from their case management to carry out compliance procedures.
The risk assessment feature is fully amendable according to individual firm’s requirements and the nominated compliance manager is then kept informed by the system with regards to any failures and individual matters are locked pending their attention and a review of the risk assessment process.
To see our case management software and risk management module at work please request a no-obligation demonstration.
